Gabriella was named a Top Ten Winner in our summer 2017 national poetry contest for her piece “Harmony“.
My name is Gabriella Tarantino, and I am honored to be selected as a top ten artist, for my piece “Harmony”. I am 11 years old, and a sixth grader at Our Lady of Loretto school. I have always loved to draw, paint and create all kinds of art. I enjoy working with all media: oils, acrylics, watercolors, charcoal, pastels and more. For this specific drawing, I was inspired by my love of nature and animals. I used the zentangle method to create the interesting patterns.
In the future I plan to continue to create and study art. I enjoy sharing my art with others, and hope to be able to show my work in galleries someday!
Meghana is a top ten winner from our summer 2017 national art contest for her piece “The Formidable Apple“.
Hi, I’m Meghana Basi, a 14 yrs old professional artist/student at the Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Natick MA. Art is not just my passion, I do it because, I have to…it is my breath, my lifeline!
I believe in capturing the perception and emotion of everything! I myself am an abstract impressionist artist and can play with my brush, with color vibrancy, but the pleasing perception and a balanced emotion is remembered most about my works. I often feel I lived their lives, so I could easily relate to all my characters!
My life experiences inspired me to create this work. People wish to live the life of their dreams, but we aren’t aware of the obstacles in our paths and I’ve seen people failing in their lives. So, I’d be wide awake, and aware of these obstacles by preparing myself emotionally and physically to be very powerful to achieve my dreams.
My goal is to create a unique identity for myself as a surreal artist, and give enormous joy and contentment to the souls of my creative supporters through my works.
I’m thrilled to hear about my win for my art “THE FORMIDABLE APPLE”! Thank you, Celebrating Art and Blick Art!
